Waves

I recorded production sound for Waves thanks to writer/director Taninrat Wadsriwat: the short follows a woman who wakes up following a traumatic event.

I created Foley art during post-production to add to the realism of the black and white scenes. Adding subtle details really elevates the story and its realism, building intimate moments between the talent on screen and the viewer.

Specs:

  • Sennheiser's MKH-416 (and 8060)

  • Sound Devices 633

  • Pro Tools

This short experiments with slow-cinema and psychological tension - each sound was particularly delicate, and the foley art was gently mixed with the film's emotive score. All while exploring the sensitive themes in a way that blends realism with surrealism.
